Structural Engineer

William Lottering has been intricately involved in the design and construction of over 100 commercial, industrial and mixed-use developments as well as various marine and rigging structures throughout northern, central and south-east Queensland since 2005.  Previous on-site experience allows William to tailor design effective and efficient solutions that suit the individual client’s needs. William ensures he is easily accessible to all clients applying equal priority to every client request.  William has a small but reliable team of engineers, drafters and support staff and has an inherent understanding of how engineering can deliver a practical solution to the client’s needs.

EXPERIENCE IN MARINE AND CIVIL STRUCTURAL PROJECTS
William’s experience in marine and civil structural projects includes the design of wharf structures and wharf ancillary items (dolphins, gangway’s etc), the design of temporary works structures (falsework and formwork), the design of bridges and pile support frames as well as dilapidation reports and schedules of repair works.  William was also involved in flood damage assessments and repair designs for eight (8) Brisbane City Council ferry terminals following the 2011 Brisbane River flooding.

EXPERIENCE IN THE BUILT ENVIRONMENT – RESIDENTIAL AND COMMERCIAL
In more recent years, William’s understanding of the built environment has led him to become involved in defect investigation and repair specifications for existing buildings.  Defects such as water ingress, building settlement and wall cracking, concrete cancer and stormwater management are regularly encountered and resolved.  William adds value to the remediation process by providing insight on what the problem is and why it has occurred as well as offering practical solutions that aim to minimize inconvenience to the owner and occupants of the building.
