Scope:

FSACE were engaged by the principal contractor Acciona Construction Australia to provide modularisation and lifting temporary works designs for the new Kwinana Waste to Energy (KWtE) project. The project delivered Australia’s first waste-to-energy power station which is set to divert 460 kT of waste from landfill each year to generate 38MW of electricity. Our involvement in this project is detailed as follows:

Transport and lifting checks for forty structural steel frame modules ranging from 25 to 100 tonnes each;
Sixteen complex ash filter shell lifts with bracing and lifting designs;
Thirty-two special boiler panel wall lifts (up to 32m tall x 9m wide) transported pitched and rotated;
Various other temporary works packaged including logistics, monorails, skid designs and bespoke lifting frames;
Working with the client to provide value engineer solutions including a world-first combined reactor casing lift for waste to energy plants

I would like to take this opportunity to thank FSA for their contribution on Australia’s First Waste to Energy Project. FSA have been key to the safe delivery of construction works on the Project, in this time you have completed some complex temporary works designs associated with the Transport & Constructions of the Boiler, Bag House and structural steel. During this period the Project managed to achieve TRIFR of Zero, this in itself is a great achievement for the project that FSA Contributed to.
