Scope:

FSACE were heavily involved in the demolition of the Queensland Rail Auchenflower Overpass structure during the station’s accessibility upgrade project. The project involved the removal of a 221t pedestrian overpass bridge using an 800t crawler crane and demolition of approach structures. The 221t lift won three CICA lift of the year awards. Our involvement in this project included:

Lifting methodology, 1^st principles engineering assessments for structural integrity checks, COG and weight assessment for lift study development.
Structural capacity checks and strengthening details around cut outs and partially demolished components.
Scaffold and temporary plant loading assessments on the existing overpass slab.
Ongoing support for the client throughout the demolition works.

FSACE also provided the primary contractor, John Holland, design services for the station upgrade works.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank FSA for their contribution on Australia’s First Waste to Energy Project. FSA have been key to the safe delivery of construction works on the Project, in this time you have completed some complex temporary works designs associated with the Transport & Constructions of the Boiler, Bag House and structural steel. During this period the Project managed to achieve TRIFR of Zero, this in itself is a great achievement for the project that FSA Contributed to.
