Scope:

FSACE were intrinsically involved in a variety of marine and temporary works designs for the Kangaroo Point Green Bridge Project, located within the heart of Brisbane City, Queensland. The project involved the design and construction of a 460m long single-mast cable stay bridge, providing a link for pedestrians and cyclists between Brisbane CBD and Kangaroo Point peninsula. Our involvement in this project is detailed as follows:

• Design of a variety of aspects relating to the marine based Favco crane, particularly and proudly the substructure and piles supporting the crane which has a lifting capacity of 220 tonnes based on the project specific configuration.
• Design of temporary portals supporting the suspended deck during construction.
• Design of all column formwork arrangements including their reinforcement cage lifting and support during construction.
• Design for the various pylon components including lifting, strengthening, transportation and temporary support.
• Design for the access to the various levels of the pylon during construction.
• Design of precast pile cap lifting and temporary supports on the piles.
• Design of pile cap access platforms.
• Design of boom pump and concrete pump line support frames, including variations to design at iterations in construction to ensure component reutilisation was maximised.
• Design of pier diaphragm soffit formwork systems.
• Design of various transportation and heavy lifting arrangements, including the head mast, formwork systems, and submodules.
• Provision for immediate support throughout the construction phase of the project including 3D modelling and clash detection to ensure a smooth delivery.
